El Paso files DOE export applications for Elba, Pascagoula

El Paso Corporation has filed an application with the Department of Energy (DOE) to export up to 0.5 billion cubic feet of LNG a day (2.2 billion tonnes of LNG a year) from its Elba Island facility to countries with which the U.S. has a free-trade agreement (FTA) for 25 years. "This would give us flexibility," an El Paso spokesman said. "The terminal will be able to import as well as export."
