Peru: Negotiations on Camisea Natural Gas Field Delayed

Peru expects negotiations over royalties paid by the Camisea consortium to be delayed, leaving the state with less income from gas exports, Reuters reported. President Ollanta Humala's administration is seeking to insure that royalties paid on exported gas are always higher than those paid on gas used domestically. Hunt Oil, S.K, Sonatrach and TecPerrol are the members of the consortium. In addition to the royalty arrangement, Peru wants to insure that gas from Block 88, which the consortium runs, is reserved solely for the domestic market, one of the key campaign promises made by President Humala.
