Fuel cells are promising as the alternative power source to the conventional fossil fuels in relation to the environmental pollution and the decrease of oil deposits.In particular,direct fuel cells are attractive for applications in view of their lower weight and volume due to the simple system compared with indirect fuel cells.Methanol,ethanol,formic acid,and so on have been considered as a candidate fuel of direct fuel cells.Compared to other fuels,especially DME has low toxicity,pumpless fuel delivery,and high energy density.DME would be another candidate fuel for portable power sources.Recently,several studies have been reported on the performance of direct dimethyl ether fuel cell(DDMEFC).
