First cut grass analyses are showing energy levels are lower than usual and steps will have to be taken to plug that gap.Getting the most out of maize silage will be particularly im-portant this autumn, as grass silage analyses are showing disappointing figures.This means the shortfall -particularly in terms of energy - has to be made up elsewhere, and a good way for many will be to maximise the value of maize.
