Rampaging heifers soon malce mess of my garden

As I write it's very wet and muddy. Young stocic feed is short but we're not the only ones round here buying in as the shortage is so severe you have to take what ever there is regardless of price.Just how wet the ground has become is well illustrated by events last night. That's because we had 30 young heifers break out from their shed for a midnight feast. They somehow managed to sneak round the yard and have spent many happy hours tromping round the garden. I don't know how we failed to hear them but they managed to act in unison like a wiggly plough, leaving nothing but muddy footprints. Somehow they managed to do even more damage than our free-range piglets! I can't even demand the presenceof a tractor and roller asthey've managed to get into such very tight corners.
