Strep uberis: can it be brought to heel?

Number 50 calved in a fortnight ago, looking a picture, and then immediately went down with a case of clinical mastitis. After the standard three tube course of treatment the clots disappeared and she looked to be cured. But no sooner was the milk back in the tank than the clots appeared again! Sound familiar? If so, chances are Number 50 has a recurring Strep uberis infection, which if not tackled aggressively will become a persistent problem both for her and possibly her herdmates.
