Clinical mastitis cases cost the UK dairy industry in excess of ￡160m a year and preliminary findings from a new MDC funded survey suggest incidence rates are rising rather than falling. According to project co-ordinator Andrew Bradley, from the School of Clinical Veterinary Science at Bristol University, in spite of the plethora of information and improved treatment options incidence rates of clinical mastitis are no better now than they were 20 years ago.
