Cumbrian producers turn to making own regional cheeses

The quest for a better milk price has so far proved successful for the Cumbrian three, who are now adding between 75p and ￡1.20p per litre over the cost of production. Chris Johnston of Abbey Farm, Skirwith, Penrith, Gary Simpson of Knock Cross Farm, Long Marton, Appleby and Kevin Beaty of Hilltop Farm, Ivegill, Carlisle, are as diverse a group of Cumbrian dairy farmers as could be found.
