Using cereals in dairy rations

Current prices for cereals are tempting many milk producers to look at incorporating higher levels of grain in their rations this winter. But maximising use of cereals in feeds is not as simple as many imagine, as Donald Brown explains. THE PRICES offarm-grown grains are now at an all-time low. With some cereal prices around the 70 pound/tonne mark, increased inclusion of cereal grains in the diet makes obvious economic sense.
