Laser assisted plasma arc spraying for preparation of solid planarly adhesive coatings with high adhesive tensile strength

The development of equipment for hybrid atmospheric plasma arc spraying and laser beam treatment of sprayed coatings by remelting was described. The diode laser with 1.4 kW output and Nd:YAG laser with 1.2 kW output were used. The tests of equipment and sprayed coatings were described. The melting of sprayed coating and substrate was attained down to 0.1 - 0.3 mm depth. The requirements on substrate preparation were decreased
