On the renaissance of urban-rural partnerships under the banner of the mandate for equal living conditions: An oldew challenge for integrated land management [Zur renaissance von stadt-land-partnerschaften im zeichen des gebots gleichwertiger lebensbedingungen: Eine alteeue herausforderung an ganzheitliches landmanagement]
Urban-rural partnerships, already represented by artists in the Italian Renaissance, have gained an increasing relevance because of global, national and regional competitions and challenges. The question is whether they are appropriate in order to provide equal opportunities in all sub-regions and the required equivalent living conditions. An equal treatment of all areas both in urban and in rural areas is still demanded in politics. To achieve this ambitious objective, more than ever a comprehensive land management should be implemented within these urban-rural cooperations. This requires, however, for all actors, especially for the geodetically educated Land experts, a future oriented understanding of their role in Land Management and naturally a more comprehensive education and training.
