The product of the reaction of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline (1) with 2-naphthoi (2) and formaldehyde reported as the N-substituted tetrahydroquinoline 3 shows really the structure of the phenylogous bis-substituted tetrahydroquinoline 4.
