CONTROL OF FIELD SLUG (DEROCERAS RETICULATUM (MULLER)) BY SEED-APPLIED PESTICIDES IN PERENNIAL RYEGRASS ASSESSED BY LABORATORY TESTS

摘要

A laboratory pot test was used as a quick screening method for investigation of the efficacy of different pesticides as seed treatments against the slug Deroceras reticulatum in perennial ryegrass. The most effective treatment in preventing damage to the seedlings by slugs was metaldehyde WP 80. The level of slug protection at 16 g active ingredient per kg seed was insufficient, bur 160 g a.i. gave good protection for up to 13 days after sowing. Thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate, methiocarb, bromoxynil, ioxynil and can one were less or nor at all effective.
