Cultural characteristics and pathogenicity of Seimatosporium lichenicola (Corda) Shoemaker et Muller isolated from blackberry (Rubus fruticosus L.) plants in Yugoslavia

Two isolates of S. lichenicola originating from necrotic tissue of blackberry did not show significant differences. The optimum temperature for colony growth ranged from 20-25deg C. Except on Czapek's medium, growth was very successful on potato dextrose agar (PDA), onion, plum and malt agar. An acidic medium was more suitable then an alkaline one. There was only one case of successful artificial inoculation on blackberry.
