Since the 1980s, multi-jackbolt tensioners (MJTs) have found widespread use on turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, piping, valves, reactor vessels and compreessors. Their reliability in service, ease of application (versus other means) and relative low cost account for an increasing popularity.
