Tractor-mounted mower design has been updated to ensure they are still an invaluable tool on large areas. Improvements to tractor-operated mowers mean they still have an important role to play in grounds maintenance. They are now even easierand quickerto fit and detach, and the choice has expanded beyond cylinder models forthose needing a fine finish. The contour-hugging, articulating mower is making inroads into the grass maintenance industry as more managers seek to cut grass quickly but with a superb finish. In the three years since its launch, the Pro-Flex 120 contour mower from Staffordshire-based Turfmech has proved the need for tractor-operated equipment, especially on golf courses, where the contour-hugging ability of the 120 is most appreciated. Sales in the UK are approaching three figures and all but one machine has so far been sold into the golf course market.
