Consolidation of steelmaking branch - a fashion or necessity?

A great number of merges and strategic alliances in nearly all fields of economy forces interrogation if it is a fashion or necessity for present metallurgical companies. The paper tries to answer this question by presentation successful consolidation projects on the basis of home and foreign literature. In conclusion it was found that such strategy is the future of metallurgical companies.
