Ceria-based materials such as Ce_1-xZr_x02and cerium (IV) oxide (CeO2) find a wide range of applications such as redox or oxygen storage promoters in three-way catalysts, catalysts for H2 production from fuels, automobile exhaust treatment, solid state conductors for fuel cells, optical films, polishing material, gas sensors, and many others. Nanosized CeO2 accompanied with tunable structure and assembly behavior can be useful in heterogeneous catalysis, biotherapy, and other fields.
