摘要

A multi-direction cross-hexagonal search (MDCHS) algorithm for fast block motion estimation is proposed in this paper. The double cross-shaped pattern and various direction hexagon-shaped patterns have been used to get the motion vector. Experimental results show that the proposed MDCHS's performs faster than that of the hexagon-based search algorithm (HEXBS). It also performs faster than that of the cross-diamond-hexagonal search algorithm (CDHS).
