Australian biomolecular brilliance

The last decade of the 20th century was a period of accelerating change in biomolecular science. At no time in the history of Australian biomolecular research have the changes in research methods, information availability, entrepreneurship and commercial focus been as great. This brief overview highlights some of the exciting developments that have occurred in biomolecular science commercialisation since 1980. The focus will be on developments relating to new small molecule therapeutics, rather than vaccines, proteins and peptides, or other products of biotechnology.
