68-year-old fell into bakery basement

A bakery has been fined ?8000 after one of its customers broke her pelvis falling though a storeroom hatch. Sally Nicolet was buying cakes for her 68th birthday at Gail's in Fulham Road, London, when the incident happened on 25 April 2013. The trapdoor to the basement, which was between the till and a cake display, had been left open after a delivery. A member of staff who should have been guarding it had moved away.
