THIS DVD addresses one of the fundamental obstacles to raising awareness of health and safety issues: people's view that accidents only happen to other people. It Will Never Happen to Me is the true story of 25-year-old newly married construction worker Kieron Deeney, who fell to his death down a lift shaft while working on a London construction project. Narrated by his widow Jennifer, the DVD shows the catastrophic impact of a fatal accident on those most closely related to the victim. Real footage chronicles the tragedy, from the couple's wedding ceremony and the construction site where Kieron worked, to his wife's feelings as she is faced with the news of her husband's death, with shots of his grave and of the memorial constructed at the scene of his accident. We share Jennifer's grief at the sudden loss of her partner and of their future life together.
