IF ALL road accidents involving people at work counted as work accidents, road risk would probably rise straight to the top of the health and safety agenda. There is no escaping the fact that for most people, driving to, from or for work is the most risky thing they do. World Health Organisation figures suggest that road accidents will be the third highest cause of death and injury by 2020. This book is the third volume of the Driver Behaviour and Training series, focusing on human factors in road and rail transport. It is a collection of over 30 separate research papers drawn from all over the world and covering different aspects of driver training and education. Each paper is introduced by the editor, followed by details of the study and a discussion of the results.
