Since completing the acquisition of Ashland's stake in MAP LLC, Marathon has been working to integrate its downstream operations with a Canadian oil sands producer. The goal is to align the upstream and downstream players into a productive partnership, according to Janet Clark, Marathon senior vice president and CFO. A decision on a partner could come this year or next, but considering the announced crude capacity expansions, upstream players should be feeling a sense of urgency, Clark said.
