Rational Generating Functions and the Solution of Linear Inhomogeneous Recurrence Equations

摘要

The approach of using generating functions to solve linear inhomogeneous recurrence equations with constant coefficients will be discussed in this paper. The generating functions for these recurrence equations are shown to be rational functions. Asymptotic estimates for the coefficients of the generating functions will be derived based on the location of the singularities.
