A new health and leisure centre in the UK required a holistic approach to the energy-efficiency of its HVAC system. A range of centrifugal pumps for heating and cooling, and complete pressure boosting systems allowed the centre to reduce its carbon footprint, focus on energy saving, and stay healthy for longer, aiding the whole community. The UK's NHS has created a number of Strategic Health Authorities who deliver a range of health services via various routes including Primary Care Trusts (PCTs). The PCTs are local organisations who work closely with the community and who therefore are ideally placed to understand local needs. Because of this broader approach, they are choosing to provide centres which incorporate aspects of social care, mental health services as well as actual primary care.
