摘要

The attraction of organic-inorganic hybrid coatings is the development of coatings with unique properties, not achievable using a single component of the hybrid system. The sol-gel technique is a simple, cost-effective way of producing chemical linkages between soft organic and hard inorganic components, and can produce coatings with an interesting balance of hardness and flexibility. Additionally these coatings can have high optical transparency, superior weathering and corrosion resistance, excellent abrasion resistance and impact resistance compared to more conventional polyurethanes and epoxy-amine coatings.
