Formulating coatings with silver-based antimicrobials: A systematic approach

Both in the liquid and cured film states,coatings are susceptible to microbial attack and hence in-can stabilisers and biocides are used to provide protection.Ideally these protective materials should show efficacy against a wide range of microorganisms,be environmentally friendly,be colourless,odourless and stable to UV light.
