Stem the nightmare

Most every conversation at the recent Outdoor Power Equipment Distributors Association (OPEDA) meeting touched on product liability and safety, the forthcoming two-tier emission control regulations from EPA and CARB, and the noise issue which has prompted numerous cities to pursue limiting or banning the use of gasoline-powered blowers. A week earlier at a Rise (Responsible Industry for a Safe Environment) breakfast held at the annual golf course superintendents show, it became apparent that the public's fear of contaminating the environment has caused all chemicals to be irrationally lumped into the same category as agent orange.
