Getting around gets easier

Visit a hatchery these days and you're bound to come across one of these perky little vehicles bouncing around between the tanks or raceways. Handy for close quarters and quick trips to the feed shed they've found favor in facilities from Anchorage toZurich. Rod Nickerson, a seasoned 95-year-old trout farmer, remembers the days when he could walk the whole half-mile to the reservoir that feeds his Gilbert Trout Hatchery in Plymouth, Massachusetts, but these days he's thankful to have an old Kawasaki Mule to get him there. The Mule, a Utility Vehicle (UTV), has become the primary source of travel for Nickerson, who first started working on the hatchery just out of high school in 1933.
