Australian firm goes public to build Southern Bluefin Hatchery: Stehr Group aims to close cycle on Southern Bluefin Tuna

One of Australia's most successful aquaculture pioneers, the Stehr family of Port Lincoln, South Australia, was the first company in Australia to breed Yellowtail Kingfish (Seriola lalandi) and Mulloway (Argyrosomus Hololepidotus) in commercial quantities. They are the only group in the world to have sexually mature Southern Bluefin Tuna (SET) in captivity, and are now seeking what has been called an aquacultural "holy grail" - the breeding of SBT on a commercial scale.
