Spinal deformities in salmon: Their causes and some possible solutions

The effect can clearly be seen in the photograph of two salmon with the accompanying x-ray showing details of the vertebrae, illustrating one of the characteristics of the condition, which is where the vertebral bodies are shifted together with accompanying loss of inter-vertebral space and in addition where compression and inversion of the vertebral edges is observed.
