Despite recent reports that it would delay work on two of its 200,000 b/d refineries under construction, PetroChina reportedly has submitted to the Chinese central government plans to double capacity at the Qinzhou refinery. The second phase includes plans for an additional 10 million tons/year (200,000 b/d) of crude processing capacity; a 20,000 b/d aromatics unit; and a tank farm capable of storing 3 million tons of crude oil and 1 million tons of oil products.
