The Indian companies announced that they have purchased a 30% stake in Carrizo Oil and Gas's Niobrara shale asset for $82.5MM in Colorado (US). It is the first investment by Oil India and IOC in US shale assets. Oil India will take 20%, while IOC will have 10%. India has been looking for oil and gas assets around the world as its local demand rises and it imports nearly 80% of its crude needs
