Gulf Asian Petroleum, Petronas to construct refineries/PC facilities in Malaysia.

Domestic, private firms KNM Group and Zecon signed an agreement with Gulf Asian Petroleum (GAP) worth 15B MYR ($5B) for engineering, procurement, and construction services related to a planned, 150-200K-b/d refinery integrated with a 400-525K-mt/y polypropylene (PP) complex at Teluk Ramunia, Johor, Malaysia. In addition, a 2B-MYR ($666MM), 2.328MM-m3 (14.64MM-bbl) storage terminal will also be built at the site. KNM is currently in search of either a Chinese or South Korean firm to join the project as a third party, and the two local firms along with the proposed third party will be responsible for funding 80% of the project's cost. Initial estimates state that the refining complex will take three years to construct while the terminal should take 18 months.
