Marathon and Valero anticipate an end to ethanol tax break

At an energy and power conference in New York on Sept.6, Marathon CEO Gary Heminger announced, "Ethanol has hit a blend wall." Heminger discussed customers' reluctance to accept E-85 and automobile companies' refusal to warranty over E-10 blends, to which he concluded, "I would expect that we'll see a roll-back of the ethanol subsidy."
