According to traders, Saudi Arabia is expected to import 4.5MM bbl of gasoline in June 2013, up 45% on the year, while thesel imports are expected to hit near-record highs, with estimates at 8.9MM bbl for June, up from 6.7-7.5MM bbl in May. In general, Saudi Aramco imports thesel during the summer as air conditioning use increases to fight off temperatures of up to 50°C (120°F). Additionally, travel is expected to increase at the same time as Ramadan is to begin early in July this year.
