Alberta approves bitumen pipeline.

The Canadian province's Energy Resources Conservation Board has approved construction of a 200K-b/d blended bitumen line and 70K-b/d diluent line, both to transport product from Laricina Energy Ltd.'s thermal pilot project in Saleski to an up-and-coming pipeline hub in Cheecham. Laricina will also construct a tank farm near its Saleski project. The bitumen blend line is expected to come online in the second half of 2015, alongside the startup of first-phase commercial production at Saleski, while the diluent line will not enter service until 2016. Laricina may also construct an extension to the line in order to enable delivery to its Germain thermal project, where first-phase production startup has been scheduled for late 2013.
