According to Pundi Srinivasan Raghaven, India's ambassador to Russia, India's ONGC is in talks with both Rosneft and Gazprom Neft on a number of upstream production and crude-purchasing deals. With Rosneft, the company is "in talks to invest in a number of fields" in Russia, Mr. Raghaven said, adding that a crude supply deal was being sought with Gazprom Neft. Further details were not immediately available, though the ambassador did say that the deals might become part of a broader energy agreement between Russia and India's governments.
