Bid-week trading in US gas featured not a dull moment last week.The Nymex gas futures contract rolled of the board at an all-time high of nearly 12 per million Btu as early hurricane season activity emerged,whipping already strong market bulls into a frenzy(WGI May7,p6)."Hurricane season is just starting,but we're already seeing major hurricane prices,so you have to wonder what's going to happen to prices if we really do get a big storm moving into the Gulf over the next several weeks and months,"said one gas futures trader in Florida.
