LNG Heads for 'Market of Last Resort'

Imports into Northwest Europe's main LNG terminals in Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK more than doubled in the first three months of 2015 to over 3.6 million tons as low demand in the normally premium Asian market prompted cargoes to head for Europe, the "market of last resort," WGI analysis shows. That left the terminals together operating at an average of just 29% of their 50 million ton per year import capacity, up from 11% in the same period of 2014.
