The potential for high-paying "green jobs" - in either alternative energy or the greening of conventional fuels - has been realized in some cases, but experts caution that growth in some of these sectors is occurring more slowly than in other industries. Additionally, failures such as the ZeroGen project in Australia and the Solyndra solar firm in the US are highlighting the possibility that green industries may be just as susceptible to layoffs as other sectors.
