While the rest of Asia appears to have lost all interest in incremental LNG,India is still out scrounging markets for new medium-and long-term supply,potentially providing Qatar with an alternative to weak Western markets(p6).Petronet LNG is negotiating the long-term purchase of another 2.5 million tons per year(9.5 million cubic meters per day)from Qatar's RasGas,as it desperately seeks fuel to cover new commitments to supply 7.3 MMcm/d(258 million cubic feet per day)of gas to power plants being constructed around Delhi ahead of the Commonwealth Games being hosted by India in 2010.
