CNPC's Missan Job

State China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) subsidiary PetroChina is leading a 450 MMcf/d (4.6 Bcm/yr) integrated development for associated gas from Iraq's Missan province oil fields, a senior Missan Oil Co. official tells WGI, seeing off competition from French Total. The official said PetroChina has finished studies, and the goal is to complete the project in late 2017 or early 2018. More than 300 MMcf/d will come from Halfaya and the balance from the Missan Cluster: the Buzorgan, Fakka and Abu Ghirab fields. The project will be in two phases: Two 150 MMcf/d processing plants in phase 1, and a third in phase 2. CNPC leads Halfaya development, where it partners Total and Malaysia's Petronas, while China National Offshore Oil Corp. is lead developer for the 450,000 b/d Missan Cluster project (WGI Jun.20' 12).
