Positive scooping study for Miramar's Hope Bay project

The scooping study reported on last month (WG Feb 01, p6) at the Hope Bay prospect, in Canada's Nunavut Territory, has now been published as the current joint owners Miramar Mining (TSE: MAE) and Hope Bay Gold (TSE: HGC) announce a corporate restructuring.As signaled in January, this initial study recommends that a low capital cost operation based on the high grade (over 20 g/t) Doris Hinge zone be used to generate cashflow to continue exploration and development of the Hope Bay belt. A small open pit would be developed followed by ramp access and underground mining of the majority of the Doris Hinge resources.
