European Union: new food labeling rules require more complete information on allergens

[Paris] The European Council adopted in late September an amendment to the European Union food-labeling directive that will require manufacturers to supply consumers with more complete information on almost all food ingredients, especially for allergens. Under the new food-labeling directive, amending 2000/13/EC, all ingredients likely to cause allergic or intolerance reactions must be listed, according to a statement from the EU, which lists the allergens affected.
