The Produce Safety Alliance is designed to give produce growers and packers training about food safety practices and future regulatory requirements. LATE last year, FDA, USDA, and Cornell University announced the formation of a Produce Safety Alliance. The new Alliance is a three-year, 1.15 million dollar partnership funded by FDA and USDA and is housed at Cornell University through a cooperative agreement from the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS). It is well-known that Cornell's national Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) program has been a leader in the development of GAPs educational materials and outreach training for growers in the area of produce safety.
