Zenergy to provide HTS technology for use in wind and hydropower projects

Germany's Zenergy Power plc has entered into an agreement with Converteam Group SAS to provide high temperature superconductor (HTS) wire and coils to the developer of systems for the conversion of electrical energy. As part of the agreement, Zenergy becomes the exclusive supplier for all of Converteam's commercial activities in relation to wind power and small hydropower projects, a press release said. Zenergy was created in 2005 from three HTS technology companies: Trithor GmbH (Germany), SC Power Systems Inc. (USA) and Australian Superconductor (Australia), the release said. Converteam, it said, has been very active in the wind power market.
