DESIGN ASPECTS OF TAIL RACE OUTFALL & RAMPUR INTAKE

Tailrace outfall, which has been conceived with the idea of switching the water either to River Satluj or to the Rampur scheme, is an open structure at the end of the tailrace tunnel. The structure involves open excavation in overburden and rock. Rock excavation goes down to ±EI 999.00 m in general, with the portion near TRT Portal down to El 990.00 m and excavation near gate structure for RHEP to El 987.00 m.
