Different Dopaminergic abnormalities underlie cannabis dependence and cannabis-induced psychosis

The last decade has seen a great increase in published articles on cannabis dependence and especially on cannabis-induced psychosis. Numerous factors have contributed to this increase, including the realization that cannabis is the most extensively used illicit drug in the world, the liberalization of laws on cannabis use in some countries and states (e.g., Uruguay and Colorado), and the increasing availability of more potent types of cannabis.
